Rare opportunity to head up the regional film division of a leading worldwide media company.

Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE), the international home entertainment division of Universal Pictures, is part of NBC Universal - one of the world's leading media and entertainment companies in the development, production, and marketing of entertainment, news, and information to a global audience.

UPIE markets and distributes Universal new release, catalogue and special interest titles, as well as some third party product, via Universal offices across the world. UPIE is additionally very active in local acquisitions in each of these markets.

UPIE also sells and distributes home entertainment product via 30 licensee relationships covering approximately 100 additional territories.

The Operating Company in ANZ has an annual turnover of $140m, has circa 45 employees across organization and the Managing Director will have 10 direct reports.

The MD is responsible for delivering revenue and contribution in line with the annual operating budget from the sales of Universal and local acquisition products. The role also requires that the MD provides strong leadership to the organisation, building a positive environment with a strong sense of team and cooperation.

Essential Responsibilities include

Commercial

Manage and achieve budgeted revenues, contribution and overhead goals and targets. Successfully deliver Op plans
Establish and ensure delivery of local priorities, goals & objectives
Work closely with the Theatrical as well as TV organizations to identify synergy opportunities whenever possible
Oversee Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance functions ensuring an integrated/cohesive team operation. Work closely with relevant functional heads in UPIE
Coordinate Core Operating processes e.g. Long term & short term financial planning, Performance management & organisation planning and Reward Planning
In conjunction with the VP Sales, provide management and oversight of all key customer and supplier relationships including maintaining a strong productive relationship with sales distribution partners
Monitor market trends and dynamics providing appropriate direction to management team ensuring UPIE remain competitive in all sectors of the market
Manage the interface with key internal and external stakeholders
Identify and implement strategies for sustainable incremental growth including local acquisitions product and new business development opportunities. Establish and deliver on annual local acquisition budget

People focus

Provide direct leadership and management to the ANZ OpCo senior management team to ensure that they are fully empowered to fulfil and execute their roles, and able to inspire & engage their teams
Identify and attract talent; retain and develop key employees

Essential Requirements include

Proven track record in successfully leading $70million+ FMCG or Media organisations
Strong collaborative team leader with demonstrable experience in management development and talent retention
Ability to apply innovative, non traditional and strategic thinking skills in a highly tactical environment
Record of achievement in delivering strong fiscal growth that exceeds set targets/budget
Proven track record in successfully building productive retailer relationships
Proven track record managing critical third party supplier partnerships
Dynamic with a positive practical 'can do' attitude who is comfortable with taking direction and understands multinational management environments
